Paul Wilcox, owner and President of Waterfront Construction started the company in 1976. Paul is a graduate of the University of Washington. Paul does a great job of dividing his time between managing and running Waterfront as well as actively managing a large portion of our current projects. And occasionally if the situation requires it he still picks up a hammer or drives piles!

"My mission is to run a business that is fair and reasonable to both my employees and customers."

Dave Tylor started work at Waterfront Construction in August of 1980. His job was to assist in the construction of bulkeads and docks. In 1983 he was promoted to a foreman position on the piledriving barge, WC-1. During the next 13 years Tylor was involved in the building of many of the large docks on Lake Washington.

"There was a great deal of job satisfaction invloved with this construction, because of customer response and knowledge that you had built a good, enduring product."

In 1996, Tylor transitioned from working in the field, to working at Waterfront Construction Headquarters as a Project Manager. This position currently involves dock and bulkhead sales, and the management of projects after they have gone through the permitting process.

"The 16 years I spent in field construction have given me practical knowledge which I attempt to employ as a manager."

Steve Zuvela worked ten seasons as a commercial fisherman in Alaska and Washington between 1972 and 1981. He alternated working the fishing season and working in commercial and residential construction for seven years. After leaving the fishing industry, he continued his commercial and residential construction career for an additional five years.

Zuvela has been with Waterfront Construction since 1987. Since then, he has put in 6 years as a drafter / permit coordinator, and 7 years as a fulltime permit coordinator. He currently manages 3 fulltime permit coordinators and 2 fulltime drafters working on processing permits for construction projects.

"Working with a client and our Waterfront Construction project manager, we develop the scope of a project. Then, the permit department steers the project throught the local, state, and federal agencies for permit approval."

Dan Carchano has been the Service Manager for Waterfront Construction for the past 5 years. He brings to the position a rich background in mechanical engineering. As an operating engineer, Carchano is a master mechanic. His experience includes designing and building boats, professional diving, and marine plumbing.

As Service Manager, Carchano works with a talented technician; brother Michael Carchano (an experienced diver with 21 years of Navy service as a mechanic).

Together the both of them are responsible for the installation and service of water hydraulic, oil hydraulic, and electric boatlifts operating from 4000 lbs. to 15,000 lbs. They design and build custom lifts for airplanes and custom wooden boats (or any other toy a customer might want to lift out of the water). They install and service personal watercraft lifts, canopies, davits, buoys, anchors, and dock accessories. Other duties include the repair and maintenance of docks, piers, ramps and floats.

The service department covers an area from South Puget Sound to the San Juan Islands, Lake Washington to Lake Chelan and every other body of water in between.

(And if for some reason your boat sinks, they can recover that too.)

Dean Simmons has been with the company since 1989. Starting as a laborer on one of our crane barges, he has worked his way through the ranks and has acquired skills and knowledge in all realms of the construction industry, scuba diving, pier building, bulkhead construction, etc.

His experience and enthusiasm is a great help in dealing with customer service and construction.

But Dean's motto is: "I'd rather talk fishing than work."
